What is Actos?

Actos is a medication prescribed for diabetic patients. This was manufactured by Takeda Pharmaceuticals and has been in circulation for many years. The drug can help prevent the increase of the blood sugar level in the body and it regulates it. The patient must accompany it with exercise and a balanced diet to enhance its effect. What is diabetes?

Diabetes is a condition in which the body no longer converts sugar or glucose into energy. In fact, there was already one patient who died of bladder cancer last 2011. Because of that, the food and drug administration in the United States has instituted a relabeling of the product. They wanted the manufacturing company to place a warning message regarding the prolonged use of the product.

What is bladder cancer?

This type of cancer begins inside the bladder cells. It grows continually until the entire bladder is affected. The bladder is part of the human body that stores urine and disposes it. It was studied that the substance on Actos can enhance the growth of cancer cells in the bladder. Thus, resulting to serious stage of cancer, which can be fatal if not treated immediately.

How to avoid this
